CALANORE, the chief town of a small district of the
same name in Hindustan, province of Lahore. Achar was
here first proclaimed emperor on the death of his father in
1556. Long. 75. 0. E. Lat. 31. 51. N. The district is
situated in the Sikk territories, between the 31st and 32d
degrees of north latitude.
