FRAMPTON ON SEVERN, a town of the county of Shropshire, in the hundred of Whitstone, 105 miles from London. There is here a considerable manufactory of wire. At high tides the river Severn occupies nearly a large part of the parish. The population amounted in 1801 to 660, in 1811 to 863, in 1821 to 996, and in 1831 to 1055.
