FLEMISH, or the FLEMISH TONGUE, that which is otherwise called Low Dutch, to distinguish it from the German, of which it is a corruption and a kind of dialect. It differs from the Walloon, which is a corruption of the French language. The Flemish is used throughout all the provinces of the Netherlands.
