FOLIGNO, a city of the delegation Perugia, in the papal dominion, in Italy. It is situated in a rich and fertile plain, near the river Topino, whence it receives the waters of the Maroggia. It contains eight churches, twelve monasteries, eight nunneries, and a magnificent state-house, in which is a museum of antiquities. The inhabitants, amounting to 15,102, are employed in bleaching wax and making tapes, in woollen manufactures, in making paper, and various conserves. Long. 12. 35. 40. E. Lat. 45. 6. 46. N.
