DARKEHMEN, a circle in the province of East Prussia, extending over 136 square miles, or 87,040 acres, and containing 20,530 inhabitants. The chief place, a city of the same name, is situated on the river Angerap, sixty-three miles south-east of Königsberg, and contains 164 houses and 1901 inhabitants.
