DERVENTIO, in Ancient Geography, a river of the Brigantes, in Britain, now the Derwent, in the eastern part of Yorkshire, falling into the Ouse. Also a town of the Brigantes, on the same river, now called Auldby, seven miles from York, to the north-east.
