WETLUGA

WETLUGA, a circle of the Russian government of

Karoma. It extends in north latitude from $57^\{\backslash circ\}\; 8\text{'}$ to $58^\{\backslash circ\}\; 30\text{'}$ and in east longitude from $45^\{\backslash circ\}\; 6\text{'}$ to $47^\{\backslash circ\}\; 48\text{'}$. The soil is poor, and the climate raw and cold, better adapted for pasture than for agriculture; and the population, much dispersed, does not exceed 30,000 persons.
