PAGO, an island in the Adriatic, forming a portion of the Austrian province of Dalmatia. It is long, and of a singular form, with several peninsulas, and abounds in salt lakes, from which much culinary salt is made. The island abounds in excellent coal. It contains 4300 inhabitants of the Sclavonian race.
