NEIDERSELTERS, a town of the bailiwick of Id-
stein, in the duchy of Nassau, in Germany, celebrated
for the mineral spring which yields the water known
through Europe by the name of Seltzer water. Besides
what is used on the spot, more than two millions and a
half of jugs of it are despatched to different countries,
and produce a clear revenue of L.5000. The town is si-
tuated in a picturesque country, and contains about 900
resident inhabitants, but receives a great deal of company
during the summer season.
