OMERCUNTUC, a district and town of Hindustan, in the province of Gundwana. It is a celebrated resort of Hindu pilgrimage. In the neighbourhood are found the sources of the three great rivers, the Soane, Nerbuddah, and the Mahanuddy, which adds to the sanctity of the place; the Hindus always evincing a great regard for the sources and the confluence of rivers.
