BRAMA, the Bream, a fish of the family of Squamopinnae of the acanthopterygious order. The only known species is Ray's Bream, a native of the Mediterranean, but often caught on our coasts (Yarrell's British Fishes). See ICHTHYOLOGY, and ANGLING.
