BRAZIL NUT, the fruit of the Juvia (Bertholletia excelsa), a tree that abounds on the shores of the Orinoco, and in the northern parts of Brazil. This majestic tree rises to the height of 120 feet or more. The nuts, which are of a triangular shape, are inclosed in a large pericarp, which is divided into several compartments.
