BURMAN, CASPAR, the son of the famous theologian of Utrecht, Francis Burman, was born in that city about the beginning of the eighteenth century. Of his works, none of which are of much importance, the best known are his Hadrionus VI., published at Utrecht in 1727, and his Trajectum Eruditum, a biographical history of the eminent scholars and philosophers of his native town. He died in 1755.
