DULWICH, a hamlet in the parish of Camberwell, Surrey, 4\frac{1}{2} miles S.S.E. of St Paul's, London. It is beautifully situated, and has numerous pretty villas. Pop. 1632. Dulwich is celebrated for its college, founded by Edward Alleyn in 1619. It contains a fine collection of paintings, chiefly of the Italian and Flemish schools.
