ELOIGNED, or ELOINED, (Fr. éloigner, q. d. élongare, procul habere) removed to a distance; separated from;—a term used chiefly in law. Thus Blackstone—"If the person be conveyed out of the sheriff's jurisdiction, the sheriff may return that he is eloigned, elongatus."
