CEFALU, a fortified seaport-town on the north coast of Sicily, intendancy and 40 miles E.S.E. of Palermo. It is tolerably well built, but its port is small, and its trade inconsiderable. On the summit of a lofty conical hill above the town are ruins of a Saracenic castle. Pop. about 9000.
