CUBE (κύβος, a solid square, a die), in Geometry, a solid body bounded by six equal squares. In Arithmetic, the cube of any number is the product obtained by multiplying that number twice by itself: thus, the cube of 5 is 125, being 5 \times 5 = 25 \times 5 = 125. The term cube root is applied to the number so multiplied; hence in the foregoing example, 5 is the cube root of 125.
