CURZOLA (the ancient Coreyra Nigra), an island in the Adriatic, separated by a narrow strait from the peninsula of Sabioncello, and forming part of the circle of Ragusa in Dalmatia. It is about 25 miles in length from E. to W., with an average breadth of 4 miles. About three-fourths of its surface are covered with wood. Pop. about 6000.
