CUTTERAH, a village of British India, presidency of Bengal, district and 30 miles S.E. of Bareilly. Here was fought the decisive battle, in 1774, in which Sujah ud Dowlah, with the aid of the British, defeated the Rohillahs, who were nearly exterminated by the cruelty of the conquerors.
