COLARBASUS, a Gnostic of the second century, who carried out the doctrine of his master, Valentinus, in regard to the gradation of æons. He based his system on the letters of the Greek alphabet, in which he regarded Christ as the alpha and omega. His followers were called Colarbasians. See Gnostics.
