DAIMIEL, a town of Spain, New Castile, province of Ciudad Real, and 20 miles E.N.E. of the town of that name. This is one of the richest and most flourishing towns in La Mancha, and has extensive manufactories of woollen and
linen goods and fire-arms, besides brandy distilleries, brickworks, limekilns, &c. In the vicinity are several salt marshes. Pop. (1845) 9128.
