DECAPOLIS, in Ancient Geography, a name given collectively to the ten cities of Damascus, Philadelphia, Raphana, Scythopolis, Gadara, Hippos, Dion, Pella, Gadasa, and Canatha. It gradually, however, came to include other cities besides these.
