DERA GHAZEE KHAN, a large and populous town of Afghanistan, four miles from the right bank of the Indus, in N. Lat. 30. 5., E. Long. 70. 52. It has an extensive transit trade, and manufactures of silks, cottons, scarfs, and coarse cutlery. The bazaar contains 1600 shops. Pop. about 25,000, of whom nearly one-half are Hindus, the rest Mohammedans.
