CORRUPTICOLE, a name given to a sect of the Monophysites, who sprung up in Egypt about the beginning of the sixth century. They held the corruptibility of Christ's body; and from them sprung up the Agnoëtes, who denied the omniscience of Christ's human nature. They were also called Creaticole, Phthartolatæ, and also Severiani from the name of their founder.
