CRAYFORD, a village, formerly a market-town of England, county of Kent, on the Cray, 11 miles E. by S. of London. In the vicinity are extensive silk and calico-printing establishments, and flour mills. In 1851 Vortigern was defeated here by Hengist. Pop. of parish (1851) 2935.
