GARROVILLAS, a secular town of Spain, in the province of Estremadura. It contains 6000 inhabitants, and is situated in a district studded with small elevations, of which the highest is the Santa Cruz de Brozas. It is supplied with excellent water, though sometimes not in abundance, and stands about two miles from the Tagus. Wool-lens and linens are manufactured here in considerable quantities.
