GIGLIO, the ancient Igillum, an island of the Mediterranean, lying off the coast of Tuscany, and comprised in the Tuscan province of Siena. It is about six miles in length by four in breadth, and is mountainous. Its chief products are timber, wine, marble, and fish. Pop. about 1600, chiefly inhabiting the small town of the same name.
