AHIJAH, or AHIAH, a prophet residing in Shiloh in the times of Solomon and Jeroboam. He appears to have put on record some of the transactions of the former reign. (2 Chron. ix. 29.) It devolved on him to announce and sanction the separation of the ten tribes from the house of David, as well as the foundation (1 Kings xi. 29-39), and, after many years, the subversion, of the dynasty of Jeroboam.
