ALBUERA, a small village of Spain, in the province of Estremadura, 12 miles S.S.E. of Badajoz. It has been rendered celebrated by a victory gained there on the 16th of May 1811, by the English, Portuguese, and Spaniards, under Marshal Beresford, over the French army, commanded by Marshal Soult.
