ALCANIZ, a Spanish town upon the Guadaloupe, in the province of Teruel, with a fine town-house, a college, three parish churches, six monasteries, one hospital, and 5100 inhabitants. The surrounding country is wild, but rich in olives, mulberry trees, and alum.
