ALTSTREITZ, or OLD STREITZ, a town in the duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in Germany. It has an old castle, several tanneries, and tobacco manufactories, and a great horse market. Population 3800, of whom about 600 are Jews. This town was founded about the year 1349, and is two miles to the south of New Strelitz.
