ABSORUS, ARSORUS, ABSYRTUS, AUSTRIDES, (Strabo, Mela, Ptolemy), islands in the Adriatic, in the gulf of Carnero; said to be so called from Absyrtus, Medea's brother, there slain. They are now called Cherso and Osoro.
