ADULLAM, an ancient city in the plain country of the tribe of Judah, and one of those fortified by Rehoboam. The "cave of Adullam," in which David took refuge when pressed by the Philistines, is believed not to have been near the city, but towards the Dead Sea, not far from Bethlehem.
