NEUTITSCHIN, or NOWY-GYGIN, a town of Austria, in Moravia, stands on the Tiscz, 26 miles E. of Olmütz. It is well built; and has an old castle, three churches (one of which is ancient, and in the Byzantine style), a town-hall, and several schools and hospitals. The inhabitants are principally employed in the manufacture of woollen stuffs, in which some trade is carried on. Pop. 9000.
