FERENTINUM (now Ferentino), in Ancient Geography, a city of Etruria, on the northern slope of the Ciminian hills, about five miles from Viterbo, and the same distance from the banks of the Tiber. It is only noted as the birth-place of the Emperor Otho, and as possessing a very old and splendid temple of Fortune.
