HASTA, or Hasta Pura, among metallists, a headless spear, or rather a long kind of sceptre, occasionally given to all the heathen deities. The hasta pura is supposed to be a symbol of the goodness of the gods, and of the conduct of providence, which is equally mild and forcible.
