SHIFFNAL, a market-town of England, Shropshire, 17 miles E.S.E. of Shrewsbury, and 135 N.W. by W. of London. It contains no remarkable building except the large and handsome parish church, which is in the form of a cross, with a fine carved roof and some Norman remains.
