SEGO, the chief town of the kingdom of Bambarra, in Western Africa, on both sides of the Niger or Joliba; N. Lat. 13. 5., W. Long. 5. It consists of four separate parts, unwalled, two on each side of the river. The houses are, in general, built of clay, square and flat roofed. There are a palace and numerous mosques. Pop. 30,000.
