SOLOFRA, a town of the kingdom of Naples, in the province of Principato Ultra, 7 miles S.E. of Avellino. It is well built, and contains many fine churches, monasteries, and nunneries. Woollen cloth, leather, parchment, and jewellery are made here. Pop. 6300.
