BISHAREEN, the name of several tribes inhabiting the desert on the western side of the Red Sea, as far north as Lat. 21°, and south to the Taccaze, a branch of the Atabara, the ancient Astaboras. According to Burekhardt, they are not of Arabian origin, although they have the manners of

the Bedouins; but, like their more polished neighbours the Abyssinians, they devour raw flesh.
