BISOMUM (bis and σῶμα), or DISOMUM, in Roman Antiquity, a sarcophagus or tomb, for two dead bodies, or their ashes. The sepulchres of the primitive Christians were inscribed with the words bisomi, trisomi, quadrisomi, &c., to indicate the number of bodies deposited in them.
