BLOODSTONE, or Heliotore, in Mineralogy, a chalcedony or agate of a deep green colour, with blood-red spots interspersed through it. Tartary and Siberia are its chief localities. It occurs in Scotland in the isle of Rhum, in veins in trap rock.
