AUTOLYCUS, of Pitane in Æolis, the author of two astronomical treatises, which are the most ancient specimens of Greek mathematics extant. They are edited by Dasydodius in his Spherica Doctrina Propositiones, Argent. 1572. He probably lived about B.C. 350. See Delambre's Hist. de l'Astronomie Ancienne.
