AVATCHA, a bay on the S.E. coast of Kamtschatka, the best on that coast; Lat. 52. 52. N. Long. 158. 47. E. On this bay is situated a small town of the same name; and about 20 miles inland is the volcano of Avatcha, rising to the height of 9055 feet.
