BADEN, a small town of Switzerland, in the canton of Aargau, on the Limmat, 14 miles N.W. of Zurich. It is much resorted to, principally by the Swiss, on account of its hot medicinal springs. The treaty of 1714 between France and Germany was concluded here. Pop. 2500.
