BALASINORE, in Western India, a town, the chief place of the native state of the same name, situate in the province of Guzerat. The territory of the ruling nawab contains an area of 258 square miles, and a population of 19,000. In 1768 it was subjected to tribute by the Maharrattas, which, subsequently to 1818, when the peishwa was deprived of his supremacy, has been paid to the British.
