BARROW, a large river of Ireland, which rises in Queen's county, and being joined by the Nore and the Suir, falls into the sea at Waterford Bay. In spring-tides, vessels of 300 tons can ascend to New Ross, and it is navigable for barges to Athy, where it is joined by a branch of the Grand Canal.
