BAY Colour denotes a sort of reddish-brown, of various shades, approaching to chestnut. Bay horses (to which the term is chiefly applied) are characterized by the black mane and tail.
BAY Salt is salt made by the action of the sun and air on sea-water, or on any water containing salt, in contradis-
tinction to that which is manufactured by artificial evaporation.
