IVES, St., a market-town of England, county of Huntingdon, on the left bank of the Ouse, which is here crossed by an ancient stone bridge of six arches, 5 miles E. by S. from Huntingdon. Brewing and malting are carried on to some extent, but more important is its trade in cattle and agricultural produce, its market being one of the largest in the kingdom for cattle and sheep.
