WOLGAST, a seaport town of the Prussian dominions, Pomerania, in the government and 32 miles S.E. of Stralsund, at the mouth of the Peene in the Baltic. It is a very ancient town, and was strongly fortified. Here are shipbuilding yards, manufactures of soap and tobacco, and some trade. Pop. 5744.
